Site repartitioning for WSS 3.0/MOSS 2007

Filed under: SharePoint — Keith Richie @ 10:47 pm

Remember the Site repartitioning, mass lock/unlock and site deletes from my old SPSiteManager tool for WSS 2.0/SPS2003?  Well, you’ve got those same features now for WSS 3.0/MOSS 2007 via the first release of the Microsoft SharePoint Administration Toolkit.

Go check it out!

  1. I still think (automatic) partitioning (soft-hard) should be a policy for SQL Server, rather than an IT admin job

  2. Where is the “repartitioning” part of this toolkit? I have a site that was initially setup in 1 db, now it has outgrown it and needs to be spread across more than one. I thought your previous tools had done that, but what about for WSS 3.0? It sounds like repartitioning is what I was looking for, but it’s not actually in that download.

  3. It’s the “Move, Lock, and Delete Site Collections” feature. The “Move” operation is what I’m talking about when I speak “Repartition”
