About Keith Richie

I am a Texas-based composer of Original ‘N’otion Picture Soundtracks with a diverse and ever-growing catalog of releases.

I am heavily influenced by artists such as Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, John Carpenter , John Williams, and Carbon Based Lifeforms.  Other major influences include Enya, Deep Forest, Kraftwerk, and Christopher Franke.

My albums stylistically range from Berlin-school, to film score, to ambient and chill-out. Each release is generally based on a central theme that conveys a soundtrack-type listening experience.

I would highly recommend reading through my History of Musical Influences series of posts if you are interested in reading deep into what inspires me.

You can preview all of my releases by clicking here, and you can find my entire music catalog at most of the major digital retailers listed below.

In 2006 I released my album The Maestoso Interstellar Suite. This album contains a continuous piece of space music split across 6 movements.

In 2008 I released La Famille Du Solénoïde, which is a musical tour through our solar system, inspired by the book The Planets by Dava Sobel.

Four years later in 2012 brought the release For the Willow Wept…. For the Willow Wept is a collection of soothing electronic music about those once lost and those found.

March of the Inanimate was released in October 2014 which is a homage to the classic horror movie soundtracks produced by John Carpenter and Alan Howarth who co-wrote the music to classics such as Halloween, the Fog, and numerous others

Ambient Highways, released in August of 2015, represents a collection of songs that range from a melancholy like feeling to an exuberant state in their overall composition, yet pulls the listener through theses emotions with the albums crescendoing track Keeping the Dream Alive.

On February 12, 2016 the album Skylines was released. The album contains 9 tracks of exciting electronic rock, synthwave and dark synthpop music with musical visions of Seattle, New York, Beijing China and more that will capture the listening ear from start to finish.

4/20/2016 marked the release of the space music epic The Maestoso Interstellar Suite 10 Year Anniversary Edition and its’ Sister album Singularities – Music from The Maestoso Interstellar Suite.

In September of 2016 I released a new Original ‘N’otion Picture Soundtrack titled Mister Stichs. Mister Stichs is the follow up release to my 2014 Original ‘N’otion Picture Soundtrack album March of the Inanimate.  I additionally released an enhanced and extended version of this album titled March of the Inanimate: Repossessed.

In April 2017 I released the first album of a series based on The Dark Tower books by Stephen King titled Gunslinger – A Journey to The Dark Tower in Music: Volume 1.

August 2017 brought the release of my SharePoint community dedicated album Pillars in Time.

At the beginning of 2018 I released my album Songs from the Wounded Heart.  This album contains new material along with updated versions of fan favorites that all have a sad/melancholy sound to them.  It’s a great primer into some of my more ethereal and ambient works.

I’m sure there is something here to please just about everyone, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your visit and your support.

  1. Hi Keith,

I was really excited to find your SPIEFolder tool. I am running the tool from a command prompt on my pc and I get the followng error:

    SPIEFolder-2.0>SPIEFolder.exe -o export -url “http://hec_tfs_2/sites/TSS/Process MDL/Defined Process Guide/TSS-GDE-0032_Defined_Process_Guide.doc” -directory C:\temp

Could not load file or assembly ‘Microsoft.SharePoint, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c’ or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

It looks like I am missing a dependency. Could you tell me what I need to install.

    1. Hi Keith,

I have the same problem and I am running SPIEfolder.exe on the sharepointserver.

      Any ideas ??

  2. Are you running it on a SharePoint 2010 server? Also Nancy, you’re trying to point the URL specifically to a document, you need to change that to a list/folder.
Also, after a couple of days, I’m going to remove this thread from my About page. It would be best to have this thread on my tools page, not the About page.

  3. Hello Richie,

Your website and work is awesome and very much appreciated.

I’m working on a project where I could really use the source code to SPIEFolder for SharePoint 2010. I could not find any info about purchasing or donating on your website. Is there any way we could work something out?

  4. I can’t think of any additional features that I need but I’ll be sure to let you know.

We’ve upgraded our environment to SP 2010 and so I was hoping you would have some source code available for SPIEFolder 2.0

  5. This is a great tool. Does it support moving document content from 2007 to 2010 or does it only work within one environment? Thanks

    1. Matt, you can use the 2007 build to export documents and the 2010 build to import. It’s not a single action though through one build that you were hoping for though.

  6. Thank you for your response. I ran the following command in my 2007 box:

    spiefolder -o export -url “{site URL}/project documents” -directory “{target director}” -recursive

but then I got the following error. I am using the service account. Am I doing something wrong?

The web application at “{site URL}/project documents” could not be found. Verify that you typed the URL correctly. If the URL should be serving existing content, the system administrator might need to add a new request URL mapping to the intended application .

      1. Keith,

Not sure how to send a direct email from this blog. Sorry. Where do I go?
I think the issue is that my 2007 env is x64. Will you be building a version to support this? Thank you.

  7. Hello Keith,

I am currently using SPIEFolder to export document from Sharpoint, and I have some questions about it, could you send me an email so we can get in touch ?

  8. Hi Keith,
Do you have the older version 1.0 of this tool, i am trying to export document libraries to a regular folder/file structure from Sharepoint 2003 and the version 2.0 is not working.

  9. Ah! is there any other tool that you are aware of that can just export a document library, its sub folder, files in to a regular windows folder structure for Sharepoint 2003 Environment?
