Synopsis
Following the success of The Maestoso Interstellar Suite, La famille du solénoïde (The Family of Sol) is the follow up CD of space music by Keith Richie.
La famille du solénoïde is a musical tour through our solar system, inspired by the book “The Planets” by Dava Sobel.
Where The Maestoso Interstellar Suite was a complete series of ambient space music, La famille du solénoïde follows a more electro-orchestra theme with songs dedicated to each heavenly body in our solar system.
Beginning with Giver of Life (Sol), and originally ending with God of the Sea (Neptune), a piece for Pluto was not originally planned for inclusion of this project since it was reclassified as a dwarf planet in 2006 by the International Astronomical Union (IAU). Due to overwhelming fan requests it was added to the project “Gone but not Forgotten” along with 2 additional bonus tracks “Beyond the Kuiper Belt”, and the Dance remix of “Gone but not Forgotten” titled “Gone but not Forgotten (Captain CAML AB Overdose Mix)”
Take a guided tour through the album with me here in my first “Behind the music” posting where I go behind the scenes and describe how the album came to be. I share my thoughts on each track and the direction the album took. Read more by clicking here.
